Abdoulaye Semdé

Programme manager, West Africa

Abdoulaye is programme manager in West Africa where he helps our partners implement monitoring and evaluation programmes using Akvo tools.

Prior to joining Akvo, he was director of the Population, Environmental and Health Study and Research Center (CERPES) in Burkina Faso. Before that he was regional monitoring and evaluation specialist for USAID West Africa Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (USAID WA-WASH). He has also worked in monitoring and evaluation roles at the Population Council (an American NGO), Population Services International (PSI) and PROMACO (a National social marketing NGO affiliated to PSI). In addition he has provided consultancy to numerous organisations including Family Care International (FCI), UNFPA, AFDB, AES/BF (the former Save the Children Pays-Bas), Oxfam Intermón, Mwangaza Action and l’Initiative Privée et Communautaire de Lutte contre le VIH/SIDA au Burkina Faso (IPC/BF).

Abdoulaye has a Diplôme d’études supérieures spécialisées (DESS) in environment sciences, focusing on environmental socio-economics, and a Masters degree in sociology. He is based in our Ouagadougou hub. You can follow him on Twitter @AbSemde
