ASIAN EYE CARE

Asian Eye Care (AEC) is a medical non-governmental organization founded in 1999 in the Netherlands. AECs main objective is prevention and treatment of blindness in Asia. AEC programs are focused on eye care and eye surgery, ophthalmic training of doctors and nurses and strengthening of eye care facilities at hospitals and health centers.

AEC has developed eye care programs in Myanmar, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia in close collaboration with the respective governments and local partners. AEC teams consist of Netherlands ophthalmologists and surgery assistants who all work as volunteers.

As a full member of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness AEC conducts its medical activities in accordance with the WHO/VISION2020 aims and guidelines.
