Saccos program started last year 2011 but the actual business got underway in June 2012. In June first micro credits were given out and first pumps were installed and the residents of Uwemba ward and Utalingolo ward in Njombe who are the beneficiaries of the project started to benefit from the project. SHIPO would like to extend appreciations to all stakeholders who have participated in getting the project work in such a fashion. To start with SHIPO would like to thank all stakeholders ranging from Donors and Partners {Connect International, Aqua4All, WaterRight and Rabobank foundation}, SHIPO Staffs, government authorities and the beneficiaries themselves. Up to this point more than 60 micro credits for water facilities have been advanced to beneficiaries in both wards. In Uwemba ward (Uwemba Saccos) there are more than 45 water pumps in use while others are under constructions and a good number of applications waiting to be evaluated. In Utalingolo ward (Twitangage Saccos) there are 17 water pumps in use while few are under constructions and some waiting People (beneficiaries) are very appreciative on this project and the project has really been a revelation to beneficiaries. Good side this project to these moments has been the fact that customers have already started to repay back the loans and up to this moment there are no defaults and delays for both Saccos. So far, I believe that this is a good start and a good foundation for the future of the project because if repayments are going to flow accordingly many beneficiaries are going to be reached which is the primary goal of the project.
