A capacity building exercise has taken place in Tamale which target Water sanitation coordination Structures like- school SHEP teachers, school management committees, patent teacher association, Unit committee members and Assemblymen to ensure water sanitation facilities provided in their communities and schools are well manage for enhancing sustainability of facilities.

Maintenance of public facilities in our part of the world is seen as somebody's duty and not responsibility of beneficiary community or institutions, somebody somewhere has to come and do it that is the perception among most people.

The training program was aim at inculcating culture of behavior change in the involvement, monitoring and maintenance of not only water sanitation and hygiene facilities but also other communal properties.

To encourage provision new WASH facilities then existing ones must be well maintained so as to sustain facilities for access and use.
