Teej festival celebrated with bundle of WASH Songs

Teej is a special festival for women and celebrations lasts for three pious days. The festival is observes with traditional songs and dances with dress up along with fasting. This time the teej special WASH program entitled “Teej Special Sanitation Folk Song Completion” was organized at Birendranagar surkeht in coordination with municipality and Mother Groups. The main objective of this program is to sensitize community people through WASH related folk songs. The program was also broadcasted in local TV channel. Participants performing at competition All together 8 women group were participated in program and 10 minutes time was provided to perform for each team and all team were performed with awesome WASH related songs and dance. The three panel teams of judge were kept to judge their performance. The jury team were Mr. Premdev Giri, senior artist; Mrs. Dambar Acharya, Radio Nepal Journalist and Mr. Rajesh Adhikari from ENPHO. The first prize was won by Gairi Samuha, second and third positions were secured by Shreenagar Samuha and Maseri Chetana Kendra groups respectively. Special types of prize “Yek doko puruskar” which was prepared with sanitation materials was distributed in the middle of 300 people by chief guest Mr. Yamlal Dhakal, Chief Executive Officer, Birendranagar Municipality and guest Mr. Omdatta Regmi, Scenior Engineer, District Development Committee along with cash prize followed by few remarks form guest. Finally the program was concluded by offering special food “Daar” to all the participants.
