Ethiopia to have a National WaSH Inventory Soon The Ministry of Water and Energy (MoWE) of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia today announced that it plans to officially avail the National WaSH Inventory data in few months time. Speaking at the Annual Sector Review Workshop on Water sector, Minister of Water and Energy Alemayehu Tegenu said the project which is being run by his ministry is in its final phase. Participants of the annual sector review workshop that include representatives from the federal Ministry of Water and Energy, regional bureaus of water, health, agriculture and education, NGOs working in the sector such as RiPPLE, ActionAid, UNICEF, World Bank, DFID, CRDA as well as contractors and consultants in water sector have today made lively deliberations on the results of the National WaSH Inventory. Participants have also congratulated the ministry for conducting and finalizing the study which will be useful for development planning and engagement in the country. Minister Alemayehu Tegenu on his part urged all regional governments to come up with feedback fast enough which he said will help the official launching of the inventory in the nearest time possible. He added that the inventory will be shared among the Central Statistics Authority, the House of Federations, the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, sector bureaus of regional governments as well as international development partners among others. The three day long high-level annual sector review workshop on water sector which was organized by the Ministry of Water and Energy (MoWE) came to a conclusion today by adopting resolutions for future engagements.
