Luuk is one of the very first Akvo team members, joining the organisation in 2008. In 2012, Luuk moved to Nairobi, Kenya to setup Akvo’s very first hub in East Africa, and was responsible for all of Akvo’s activities in East and South Africa. Having successfully steered the expansion of our work and the East Africa team, he moved back to the Netherlands in 2017. Luuk is currently a senior programme manager working from Akvo’s headquarters in Amsterdam, and is responsible primarily for business development. He is also a lead producer and reporter for WaterCube.tv and Akvo.tv, our video channels profiling people and issues in the development aid sector. Luuk graduated in 2007 with an MA in International Development Studies from the University of Utrecht.
