Tabitha Gerrets supports the Akvo’s East Africa hub with overall programme and partnership management, sales and strategy. When and where necessary, she also gives training and support regarding optimal use of Akvo’s tools, and planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning (PMEL) related activities.
Prior to joining Akvo, Tabitha designed and coordinated large scale development programmes in various themes such as water, sanitation, freedom of speech and ICT for Development. She has worked with, among others, Hivos, Aqua for All and the Millennium Water Alliance and brings on board more than ten years of expertise in the field of programme management, business development, Public Private Partnerships, PMEL and communication. In 2011 she initiated the IDleaks foundation in the Netherlands, a powerful public movement lobbying for more transparency and nuanced communication in the development sector. Tabitha holds an MA in Cultural Anthropology and a postgraduate degree in Development Economics and International Development. She is currently based in Nairobi. Follow her @tabithagerrets.
