With Lumen’s transformations, you can easily clean and analyse your data. The Derive column – javascript transformation provides the most flexibility. We improved error handling and how the transformation is applied on updated datasets. Make sure you don’t use the word “function” nor the sign “=>” as these are not allowed.

Bar charts are a great way to visualise data. Often you want to also split the bars based on another text or number column. With today’s release we added the option to visualise more than one metric column in Lumen bar charts.

Did you have troubles deriving a number column using Lumen’s most flexible transformation Derive column-javascript? Did you water quality image not show in the map pop-up? One of the tricky data types to analyse are answers to option questions where you can select more than one option. To easily see the frequency of individual answers Flow’s Data analysis export creates separate columns per each option. With today’s release, we pushed out a fix to ensure these columns work well.

With this release we fixed the issue where the image location was not displayed in the dashboard. When an image location is available, its coordinates will also be displayed in the app underneath the image.

Today we changed how you log in to Akvo Flow. The new login allows you to access Akvo Flow and Lumen with one email account using any email. We removed the need for Google emails to set up a user in Flow. Switch to any email!

We optimized data exports. Previously, when you downloaded the data, you might have seen the draft columns and wondered why they miss data. From now on, all data exports are based on the last published form version. The survey form export remains the same, exporting the current form version.

A new login allows you to access Akvo Flow and Lumen with one account using any email. We removed the need for Google emails to set up a user Flow. Switch to any email! We will be releasing the new login to you gradually to ensure we can quickly support you. We also simplified assignments. One assignment now holds forms from one survey. All existing assignments were automatically split ensuring ongoing data collection is not affected.

We pushed out a few improvements to Lumen over the past days. Did you have issues importing or updating Flow datasets? Did creating a Derive Category column or a Collection fail? All these issues are now fixed. We also limited which columns you can use as a second metric to the x-axis (sub-bucket) for bar charts to only TEXT columns.

The RSR project editor has been completely redesigned with a clean, uncluttered and fast UI. An autosave feature has been implemented limiting the possibility of losing data when there are connectivity issues. We’ve also made big performance improvements to the Results and Indicators section and have included a ‘Full preview’ feature of your results framework.

Group unique values into new categories, simplify visualisations and better convey data insights. Visualise your geoshapes on a map or analyse data about their size, length or point count easily. We improved Lumen dashboard pdf exports. If a visualisation or a text doesn’t fit on the page we move it to the next to keep the layout nice and organised. We also added extra details to why updating datasets fails to support you in making sure your data flow smoothly and transformations are automatically applied with each update.

This Flow release focused on improving data exports. We support the new Caddisfly tests and enhanced the data exports to make sure you can easily export datasets with more than 100 repeats per submission. We’ve recently made some changes to RSR project reports. Each of the project reports has had a design revamp and a new, helpful feature (i.e. Actual Value Comments checkbox) was added to the ‘Results and indicators review’ PDF report. We also launched the ‘Kick-start’ report, a customisable, comprehensive project report in Word.

A hot fix has been released due to a bug affecting devices with Android version 7.0 and higher (Nougat, Oreo and Pie). After installing version 2.7.1, these devices were unable to update any further. We will contact the affected users separately with alternative instructions on how to update their devices.

Besides updating one of our code frameworks and ensuring you can always also manually download surveys to the Flow app we have improved the form editor. Survey forms are now ordered alphabetically with the registration form always first for monitoring surveys. Secondly, you can rearrange options in questions by moving them up and down.

When visualising data in Lumen’s charts or maps you can filter which data to show or to remove from your visual. For instance, you can choose to focus on data representing one gender only. With this release we improved how you can see which filters are added to the visualisation by showing the full filter definition, for example: remove rows in which Year exactly matches 2019.
